Does anyone know of a race like the 24/hrs of Lemons which is held in Europe?

I don't know of one with as many cars and shenanigans as LeMons, but in regards to the "car must cost less than x" aspect, there is some form of racing along those lines in many countries. James May participated in one of those races in Finland on an episode of Top Gear.

The Carbagerun is a 5 day rally through Europe.

Cars must cost less than 500 euro.

What does it cost to enter? Does you have to have a rally license or something alike?

It is not really a rally, more like an endurance race on the street. Like a road trip through europe.

They are full for 2014, but you can put yourself on a wait list.

It cost 309 euro for a car + 2 people, extra people are 35 euros.

I just want to say that I don't really like this, because a lot of good cars are being wasted on this thing...

In Finland there's jokkis (the same thing that Dusty Ventures already mentioned). Then there is xtreme race if you want relatively low cost endurance racing. Xtreme race is for e36 325i sedans and 4500€ should get you a decent condition car with all the needed mods.

There are a number of 24 hour 2CV races.

That's what came to mind for me too. If memory serves, they prevent cheating with a system similar to what LeMons used to use. Any car that competes in the race can be purchased afterwards by another driver for 500 shiny pebbles (which I'm pretty sure is Finland's currency).

How does the latter half of what you said work exactly? Do you mean that if I were participating I could buy my competitors' for 500 shiny? What if that person doesn't want to sell (which I'm sure is mostly), is this transaction how they "prove" their car's value?

Exactly. If someone wants to buy your car after the race, you have to sell it for no more than 500. So it doesn't make sense to cheat and go over budget, because you're just going to lose the car anyway.

Ohhhh I get it now. The spirit is to race a car you would sell for 500 after.

Kinda. It's just a 500 euro or whatever limit, and the buy-back thing is a good way to prevent cheating.

I was thinking about talking to guys at Slovakiaring if a race like this was a possibility. If yes, then I’m strongly considering organising LeMons style race here in central Europe. At first probably something like 10 cars and 6 hours (just to get the hang of it). Any thoughts?
